  • VOC Park & Zoo
    Named after the famous freedom fighter V. O. Chidambaram, the VOC Park is an interesting place to visit in Coimbatore. For the young ones, the main attractions within the park include the aquarium, which has a good collection of different species of fish, a toy train for joyrides and a mini zoo.
  • Forest College
    Located close to the railway station, the Forest College is one of the oldest institutions of its kind in the country. A visit to the College Museum is a motivating experience. This museum has an interesting collection of different minerals, rocks, pests, snakes, insects and fungal diseases that afflict plants and trees.
  • Agriculture University
    Located towards the west of the city centre and is spread over an area of 300 hectares, the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is a very interesting places to visit in Coimbatore. Five kilometres away from the railway station, the university is one of the best institutions and one-of-its-kind in South Asia. The university also houses a botanical garden which is a major source of attraction. The garden has a good collection of different species of flowering plants and trees.
  • Kovai Kutralam Falls
    The awe-inspiring Kovai Kutralam Falls located in Siruvani is about 37 km from Coimbatore. The scenic waterfalls are situated within dense forests. Beautifully located amidst the calm peaceful jungles, it is a good place to watch birds and wildlife with other wonderful species. As few buses are available to visit the place, it is best to plan in advance to enjoy the panoramic waterfalls.
  • Marudhamalai Temple
    Located on a hillock about 12 km from Coimbatore railway station, the temple of Marudhamalai, dedicated to Lord Subramanya, is one of the most visited temples in the region. One of the reasons of the large number of devotees flocking the temple is that the residing deity Dandayuthapani is believed to have performed several miracles here. Thai Poosam and Tirukarthigai festivals are celebrated with great pomp and gaiety at this temple.
  • Koniamman Car Festival
    Koniamman temple is situated in the heart of the city near to Town hall in Big Bazaar Street. The Koniamman car festival in Coimbatore is an important event every year and is celebrated every year on 1st March. Thousands of devotees come here to pull the car through the important streets of Coimbatore. The procession starts from the temple, and the chariot is drawn through Big Bazaar Street and is finally parked at Raja Street in a parking space reserved for it.
  • Festivals at the Marudhamalai Temple
    There is Thai Poosam during the January and February months of the year followed by Tamil New Year celebration during the month of April. Next comes the Adiperuku festival that is celebrated with great enthusiasm and importance during the month of August. And then Karthigai deepam is celebrated at Marudhamalai temple with great pomp in November. Last but not least, Aruthra Darisanam and Margali pooja, that falls in December are celebrated grandly at this majestic temple.
